Unplugged in Bracknell – Reducing screen time

I’d bet that most of us can sense that less screen time would be beneficial.  Reducing screen time can improve mental health and improve sleep quality. The blue light emitted by screens can disrupt the natural production of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep. By limiting screen exposure, especially before bedtime, you can achieve better sleep patterns, leading to improved rest and overall health.

How can it boost mental well-being? Excessive screen use, particularly on social media, is linked to increased feelings of anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Engaging in offline activities, such as reading, exercising, or spending time with loved ones, can enhance mood and a sense of connection.

Productivity and focus also benefit from less screen time. Constant notifications and the lure of digital distractions can hinder concentration and efficiency. By minimizing screen use, we can engage more deeply in tasks, leading to higher quality work and greater personal satisfaction.

Overall, reducing screen time contributes to a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
